Biography
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Scott is an award-winning actor, writer, teacher and director. He has lived & worked professionally in New York City, Boston, North Carolina, Fort Lauderdale & Miami, FL. In 2009, he graduated with an MFA in Acting from the Ohio State University and holds a BFA in Acting from Otterbein University. Scott has performed with several national touring companies, appeared in the award-winning film Glass City (Best Actor, 2009 Naperville Independent Film Festival), co-founded the NYC-based sketch comedy troupe, the Scallywags, the Columbus-based Whistling in the Dark Theatre Co., and served as Associate Producer with the South Florida-based, Thinking Cap Theatre Co. Scott has worked as an actor and educator with numerous theatres, schools and universities, including New World School of the Arts (full-time faculty), Barry University, and the Ohio State University. He is an Equity Membership Candidate (EMC); member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association, Inc.); 2011 Carbonell Award nominee for Best Actor (The Pillowman, Infinite Abyss); 2016 Theatre Roundtable Winner (Best Actor - The NSA's Guide to Sex and Love, MadLab); The 25th Annual Jebby Awards - Winner (Best Supporting Actor - The Shadow Box, Adrenaline Theatre Group). Recent regional credits include Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (Red Herring Productions); The Cat in the Hat (CATCO is Kids); Terms of Endearment (Ember Women's Theatre); Mrs. Warren's Profession (Columbus Civic Theater); The Zoo Story (Columbus Civic Theater); Frankenstein (Actors' Theatre of Columbus); August: Osage County (SRO Theatre Co.); The NSA's Guide to Sex and Love (MadLab); Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery (CATCO is Theatre); Scott has also appeared frequently with the North Carolina based Ensemble Stage in Three Americans; The Complete History of America (abridged); Mindgame; The Melville Boys; The Star-Spangled Girl; Art of Murder; and The Redeemer.
